They are one of the few companies which has managed to survive the journey through turbulent times as technology moved forward through the times – which make them a dinosaur among web services providers.
If you’re a little dubious about using their services, fret not. There are many good alternatives – below are six good ones I recommend.

The Problem With Network Solutions
Network Solutions has changed ownership a number of times. It was initially bought by Verisign in 2000. Following that, Network Solutions was sold successively to various private equity firms before settling with web.com in 2011.
Having been in business for so long it would be foolish to assume there have been no hiccups. However, Network Solutions seems to have had a long stream of problems ranging from controversial business practices to security breaches.
There is also the matter of scalability to consider. Network Solutions, despite its breadth of services, remains slightly underpowered in web hosting options. You get a choice of shared or WordPress hosting and eCommerce hosting – nothing else.
Final Thoughts
As you can probably tell from the list I’ve provided here, there are many much better options compared to Network Solutions. Some offer better prices, some offer better performance, some even offer more innovative technology.
The most important thing is that most of them don’t come with even a fraction of the cloud of haze that hovers around Network Solutions. Do your website a favor and consider hosting with an alternative to Network Solutions. Your business will thank you later on.
