Editor's Review & Recommendation
Looking at SiteGround from the atypical consumer’s point of view I am both excited and yet disappointed at the same time.
Their performance is certainly top notch and having an excellent customer support team simply makes that even better. Yet from this perspective I also feel that their renewal prices are a little high for me to swallow. There is a caveat though. If you need this kind of top-notch performance, SiteGround is as good as gold since to be honest this level of service is hard to find, even in a market inundated with web hosting providers. Developers may also take some issue as many of their shared plans are quite limited in that sense.
For Newbies and Individual Bloggers
There is both good news and bad news for amateurs to the web hosting business here. On one end, the high renewal prices might make you balk at signing on with SiteGround since after the initial massive discount sign up period, you’ll be paying much more than many other places.
However, looking at it from a different perspective, if you sign on with an intent to grow and commercialize your site in future then that eases the burden. You can sign on for a 36-month plan and grow your site over those three years before you’re hit with renewal fees.
For Freelancers & Small Business Owners
The proposition of having access to the Weebly site builder is an attractive one for freelancers and small business owners. On the freelance site, you can leverage on this great tool to quickly knock out sites for clients. Small business owners can use to avoid having to pay for a developer to build your sites and yet build a relatively powerful site without coding skills required.
For Online Shops
There are three keywords that online shop owners need to take note of at SiteGround; Speed, Reliability and Scalability.
All here are vital to the eCommerce scene and can be found clustered under the SiteGround umbrella. Of course, it also helps that they offer WooCommerce packages with is simply a value add for some. For online shop owners, time is as precious as gold and SiteGround’s excellent customer support plants an even more solid point in its favor here. If your site is facing issues, then you can expect to have to resolved quickly and professionally.
For Agencies and Developers
With the limited developer-friendly tools that SiteGround offers, developers and agencies may need to consider other options for their needs. For those who still seek the famed SiteGround performance benefits then there is still the option of considering one of their Cloud plans.
Although the sign-up process for SiteGround is quite atypical – you simply select the options you want then pay for it they do have a bonus for WordPress users. SiteGround has a specific WordPress Starter Plugin to help those on the platform streamline the site building process. This includes some demos and a guide through basic functionalities.
